1959 El Camino Return to Me - 1959 Chevy El Camino - There is something about winning back the love of your life after forty years that tugs at the heartstrings and is the stuff movies are made of. When its about a car and a man, it brings a tear to the eye of the toughest guys.
1962 Bel Air Je Ne Sais Quoi - 1962 Bel Air - Sometimes you can’t exactly explain what causes you to fall in love. The French call it “Je ne sais quoi,” or “I do not know what.” That is the case with Doug V. when he fell in love with a ‘62 Chevy Bel Air sport coupe.
1966 Impala Big Blue - 1966 SS 396 Impala - I nicknamed this ‘66 SS 396 Impala “Big Blue” for obvious reasons: Chevrolet was the biggest car company in America, the Impala (along with the Caprice) was the largest Chevy made and it has a big-block engine. Oh, and it is blue.
1950 Ford Pick Up Old School - 1950 Chevy Pick Up - Nowadays ready-built, show-quality hot rods from builders like the late Boyd Coddington are easily available . . . if you want to pay the price. In the old days, however, you built your own, often from whatever parts you could scrounge up. And that’s what Mike Chatfield did.
1972 Chevelle Young Again - 1972 Chevelle Super Sport - The last time Doug did any serious “fixing-up” of a car was in 1970. When he retired, he gave up golf and needed a new hobby. So he returned to that love of his youth, performance cars. Having had a ‘66 and a ‘68 Chevelle Super Sport in years past, he began to search for that model Chevrolet.
1964 Impala Here’s to you, Mrs. Robinson - 1964 Impala - Although both Karen and hubby Bill drive this beaut of a ‘64 Chevy Impala SS, Karen is the one who has a special fondness for this particular model.  Her second car was one of the same year and exterior color.
1956 Chevy Corvette Et Tu, Brutus - 1956 Corvette - Brutus is a brute.  When Dave and Sue G. got Brutus, their 1956 Corvette, thirty years ago, it was a “gasser” race car.  It had a Ford rear end, the fenders were flared and it wasn’t very pretty inside or out.  But Dave knew what he wanted.
1956 Chevy Truck Chevy Calling - 1956 Truck - Every time Bill K. would see the ‘56 Chevy pickup parked in a consignment car lot in Pleasanton, he would think about buying it.  It was a “semi-custom,” with a souped-up 350 CID Chevy engine, an auto trans and a tilt hood that opened from the cowl side, but the longer it sat out on the lot, the more it deteriorated.
1057 Chevy Bel Air Endless Summer - 1957 Bel Air - To Roamin Angels, cars are not merely transportation.  To some, they might represent moments of time when they were young, responsibilities were light and the days pleasurable. There’s some of that in Ted C.’s ‘57 Chevy Bel Air.
1970 Camaro The Car Gene - 1970 Camaro - There is something about love of cars that seems to be a part of someone from birth. While her older sister was doing such “girly” activities as crocheting, Janene was outside making roads in the dirt for her Matchbox toy cars.
1956 Chevy Nomad No Joke Nomad - 1956 Nomad - What started as a joke for the 1954 New York Autorama by GM automotive designers has become a legend: the Chevrolet Nomad. They took the Corvette sports car and made a mock-up of it as a family station wagon. It garnered so much interest that GM head Harley Earl decided to make a Bel Air-sized version to sell.
1963 Nova Station Wagon Go Granny Go- 1963 Chevy II Nova Station Wagon - There is a term for a car that looks like a mild family car but roars to life in a drag race: a sleeper.  Edie H.’s ‘63 station wagon came from the factory with an in-line six-cylinder 250 CID engine and 3-speed manual transmission and was never intended to be a race car.
1967 Chevy Chevelle One-owner Chevy- 1967 Chevelle - When Bob L. bought his ‘67 Chevelle from Cone Chevrolet in Fullerton over forty years ago, he did not know he would have such a long-term relationship with the car. As a single guy, he liked the sporty styling and the 283 CID engine was economical, yet peppy.
1939 Chevy Business Coupe Satisfaction - 1939 Chevy Business Coupe - Rick soon found that he got no satisfaction from the under-powered engine nor from the paint and upholstery that were beginning to show its sixteen years of age since its restoration. So he began to redo things. Now, as Rick says, the only thing the same as when he bought it is the license plate.
1958 Chevy Impala Seller's Remorse - 1958 Chevy Impala - Too often car enthusiasts sell a car only to wish they hadn’t. It’s sort of a reverse of “buyer’s remorse.” This happened to Ed with a silver and charcoal ‘58 Chevy Impala he once owned. He sold it years ago and then found he missed it. 1958 was the first year for the Impala...
1965 Corvette American Dream - 1965 Corvette - Although Vic was not really in the market for one when his son found a ‘65 Vette roadster listed for sale in 1982, it did not take a lot to persuade him to check it out. He felt like walking away. It looked like the red paint had been applied with a brush and the interior door panels were pieces of vinyl-covered plywood.
'70 Chevy Monte Carlo SS All in the Family - 1970 Chevy Monte Carlo - Are our interests genetic or taught?  Steve’s mother loved this ‘70 Chevy Monte Carlo SS 454 when she first saw it in 1969, so why Steve loves it now could be either. Who cares? This muscle car has been in the family since new for whatever the reason.
1957 Chevy Bel Air Family Car - 1957 Chevy Bel Air -It all started when Tim’s aunt bought a brand new ‘57 Chevy BelAir. This was the top-of-the-line model with every option except for air conditioning and a tissue dispenser and she drove it for years. In 1967, however, it was stolen while parked in a church parking lot.
1938 Chevy Sedan Creamsicle - 1938 Chevy Sedan - Often there is a “defining element” that catches your eye when you first see a car. It might be the styling, custom body work, flames or unique graphics, or it might be the paint itself. The paint definitely is eye-catching. The color is listed in the book as “Creamsicle,” an apt name.
1957 Chevy Never Can Say Goodbye - 1957 Chevy - When Dan and Nikki first bought their ‘57 Chevy 150 thirty-five years ago, it was to be their family car. They liked the body style and answered a “little old couple’s” newspaper ad. It had a six cylinder engine and “three on the tree” standard trans. Since that model had no back seat, that was the first addition for their three kids.
1958 Chevy Cameo Keep on Truckin’- 1958 Chevy Cameo - Looks do count. That is what drew Richard to the ‘58 Chevy Cameo Carrier pickup that his friend was restoring fifteen years ago. It had sleek lines from its fiberglass fenders that were unusual for a pickup of that era when all others were what are now known as “stepsides.”
1950 Chevy Sedan Delivery Work in Progress - 1950 Chevy Sedan Delivery - It was a bit of serendipity when James found his ‘50 Chevy Sedan Delivery. A friend bought an antique stove from him and he spotted it in a corner of the barn where he was delivering it. His friend had started to work on it years before, but stopped when he got involved with other projects.
Classic Ice Cream Trucks The Ice Cream Truck Revival - 1954 Chevy Ice Cream Truck & 1956 Open Cab Chevy Ice Cream Truck- Baby Boomers remember well listening for the familiar melody of the ice cream truck as it rolled through the neighborhood on sunny afternoons, begging for a dime or a quarter from parents and running into the street...
Bat Rod Batrod Begins - Part IBat Rod Returns-Episode 2 - 1972 Corvette - Why the heck, people ask, is the plate on my ‘72 Vette “BATROD?” The answer, of course, is a long story. If not, why would I be taking up all this space. It starts in the days of yore, back in the mid ‘70’s when I bought a ‘73 Pontiac Trans Am.
70Chevy Monte Carlo Favorite Drivers - 1970 Monte Carlo - Angel and I bought our dream car, a 1970 Monte Carlo in June of 1970. We ordered it, sight unseen, from a sales brochure while living in Japan and picked it up in Reno Nevada. We took many coast to coast trips during the 14 years we owned the car.
54 Chevy Wagon Twin Wagons - 1954 Chevy 210 -They say that everyone has a twin somewhere in the world. Mine happened to be in Klamath Falls. Fourteen years ago we bought our 1954 Chevy 210 “Root Beer Float” Station Wagon from one of Sabrina’s co-workers. When we signed up for the cruise, I knew that I had my work cut out for me.
1955 Chevy Bel Air The Cruise of a Lifetime - 1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air -This is the story about the magic of the Internet, a hotrod Chevy, a 2,700-mile cross-country trek and the girl that said ‘yes’ to a sky-high proposal. My wife Kathy and I own a 1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air, 2-door post with a 427 Corvette “Big Block” and T-10 4-speed.
1963 Chevy Nova Brett's Senior Project - 1963 Chevy Nova - What started out as a lucky find in the old barn has developed into a family project spanning three generations of Brooks’; Brett (grandson), John & Steve (sons), and Jack (father). But first things first! This is a story that really started over forty years ago at the Holiday Chevrolet dealership in San Francisco.
