Relics & Rods. Established around 1977 with just a few members, the first show they put on was called a "Camp-o-rama" and
attracted about 25 cars. Now the show attracts over 1,000 cars and trucks
from all over the western US and Canada. See more info below
The National Hot Rod Assoc. has declared
the Capitol Auto Club Inc. as the oldest continuousely meeting "Hot Rod" club
in the United States. (since 1945)
The Sacramento based chapter consists
strictly of pre '49 vehicles. They pride themselves in member
attendance at various street rod functions and have brought
home a large number of "Club Participation" awards.
The primary organization that they donate to is"Project
Ride"which is an Elk Grove based recreational
therapy horseback riding program designed to educate children & adults
with special needs about horses & to teach them to ride.
Profits from this yearly Pre-Father's Day Car Show raffle
get donated to this organization.
The Donut Gang is a social group in
Austin, Texas having fun with their pre-1973 street rods
and custom cars.
