To everyone who attended the Legislative Action Group (LAG)/ACCC Spaghetti Feed Fund Raiser held at the Calif. Auto Museum in Sacramento yesterday afternoon "Thank You!" For those that couldn't attend, we sold out of the 500 tickets and even though there were some buyers who didn't attend, there were well over 500 people that attended. Dining started promptly at 4 PM & the food prepared by Taste of Tuscanny of West Sacramento was excellent and everyone was served and eating before 5 PM. At about 5:20 ACCC President Bob Stearns was introduced and he welcomed everyone and thanked all those individuals, clubs, businesses and organizations that helped put this event on!! Special Thanks to the Throttle Queens Car Club and many friends of our hobby that for the most part 'womaned' the Wine & Soda Bar, the 50/50 Raffle Table and Registration Table! Also thanks to all those that gave up a few extra hours of their time to help setup & cleanup. Many of the attendees traveled well over 100 miles to attend & everyone enjoyed being able to tour the museum and socialize!
The biggest "Thanks" goes to chairwoman Johna Pierce, Vice President of the Sacto Chapter of the Studebaker Club, for organizing the entire event!! She will now pay the bills and make a financial report to the ACCC by mid-March. To give you a clue as to how successful this event was, the 50/50 raffle winner, Terry LeMaster took home a cool $638.00 as his half of the raffle -- Congrats to Terry!!!
On another note, due to this fundraiser, plus a few changes to the LASC committee, our legislative actions & the upcoming Mar 12th ACCC Bylaw meeting, we have decided to postpone the Mar 5th meeting at Sacramento Vintage Ford that we had discussed at our last LAG get together. The date of our next LAG Open Forum will be sent out in a couple weeks.
The energy that was displayed throughout the organizing & actual fundraiser was absolutely outstanding and I can't believe that only hobbyists in the Nor Cal area have this energy. Its time,we, the ACCC and its officers and Directors state wide quit making excuses and get out and organize other such events. Not only did we have a great time but we also signed up a bunch of new members yesterday! The LAG is talking about an ACCC Car Show fund raiser in late summer even as you read this!!
