Townsmen Car Show

On May 30th, while a bunch of Angels headed to Union Hill School to show off their cars and trucks, some of us took the lower road which led to Newcastle. No caravan or organization, just a bunch that decided to show our support to the Townsmen Car Club in return for their great participation in our Car Show. We left Denny's, the Poker Run Registration point, in small groups and had a wonderful tour of southwest Auburn and northeast Granite Bay through all the back roads. We made the five stops and picked out cards and then arrived at the Fairgrounds around 11 am. We all parked in the same general area and one group found picnic tables by their cars and the others improvised.

When the awards were handed out we had one stellar showing with Ron Oxenrider getting a plaque, 'Second Best of Show' for his great 59 El Camino! By actual count we had 10 Angel cars there and when the plaque was given out for the club with the most participation it went to a club with 9 cars attending. Wait a minute, isn't 10 more than 9? Oh well, we don't need another stinkin' plaque.
