Heh, when it's a good idea …it's a good idea!

As you know, we've been working on the 2014 car show almost since the 2013 version ended.

George has already been out soliciting sponsors. Mike and Ash are working on the engine component. Dave G is setting up Autorama to highlight all we do.

One of our approaches this year will be to open the show to other types of vintage and classics.

The good news is we've had a lot of interest and help from some of the car guys that are also vintage trailer guys. One of the trophy winners from 2013 has put us in contact with a couple of people including one who publishes the trailer version of "Cruisin News". Our own Dave Giguere is staging a vintage trailer show this Summer at the fairgrounds. We'll have some cars out there during the June event and work on inviting one and all to our Fall Show. These folks seem to have a really good sense of humor about themselves with Pajama parades and Martini races. Could be a lot of fun and a real nice compliment to Cruisin' the Pines.

If you've got connections to the Foreign car classics or Classic boats, let them know about our show. Get me their contact info and I'd be glad to follow up.

Car show applications will be out in a few weeks in time for Autorama. Dave Garber will or has talked with you about displaying a vehicle. I think we've got a truck theme going on. Plan on spending some time helping all of us sell chances and talking about the 2014 show. Autorama February 14, 15 & 16th.

THE major hole we still need to fill is the Varni's food service directorship. Doug has created an extensive "How to manual" and passed it along for whoever his successor is. If you can read, you can do it.

Just so we are clear, we've got an entire crew that will be BBQ'ing again. That's not you.

The food service director needs to get the food purchased, tables set up, salads and side dishes made, get the people in line served, and the place cleaned up afterwards. You're safe in assuming the crew that's helped Doug including the Bear River servers and table cleaners will be back to help you so it's basically a matter of management. You can do it.

We haven't set a date yet for our first car show meeting. Give David or myself a call and let's talk about the show.
