Ladies & Gentlemen...I wanted to take a moment to thank each of you for contributing to the Roamin Angels' Toy Drive effort.

It would be impossible to relay all the sights and sounds of the event. Stand outs were the Flag practice Friday night when the All Service Honor Guard lovingly demonstrated to a group of young Boy scouts the proper respect of the flag they had held dear over a lifetime. The Saturday flag raising when traffic paused and the construction team across the street at Walgreens stopped and held their hard hats over heart.

There were many stories of people giving a few dollars they probably couldn't afford and conversely families who stopped to unload cars full of toys fully in the spirit of giving and sharing.

Not the least to remember were the kids (and adults) who got their pictures with the Big Guy on the fire engine.

The Roamin Angels could have spent a week trying to generate enough toys to fill the need. This year the void is just about insurmountable. So, the plan was to touch as many kids as we could, do the best we could muster. With your help we did.

Let me leave you with this. About half way through the day a woman came by with her daughter to drop off some toys. As she was departing she thanked everyone for our efforts because last year she was the recipient of toys for her family. This year things had changed enough, gotten just a little better with a little more money, it was time for pay back.
