Movies on the Terrace!

Steve and Susan O. created a terraced area in their backyard for when their daughter got married. The terrace allowed for the audience to easily see the ceremony. Afterwards, the terrain was just a reminder of the event.

Now, a new idea was hatched that this same terracing might work for an outdoor theater. Steve contacted Dave B., who had formerly done the drive-in movies on his property, to see if he could borrow the movie screen and projector. Next Steve and Susan started working on the area to make it more accessible by putting in new pathways and clearing the terraced area. Once it was deemed satisfactory, the first movie night was planned for July 11th.

The night arrived and about 40 Roamin Angels came bearing folding chairs and munchies. Once everyone was settled, Steve welcomed everyone and then after a short introduction produced two bags of movies. Each bag contained a different genre...oldies and newer.

Once all the titles were named off, everyone seem to agree on "The World's Fastest Indian" starring Anthony Hopkins. It turned out to be a perfect choice for the group.

The evening was a huge success in spite of mishaps with the projector and the movie, and the spits of rain that came down several times. Thank you so much Steve and Susan for setting up this fun event. We are all looking forward to the next Movies on the Terrace on August 15th!
